Jason Ho, Hansen Chan. Zero Carbon Park (ZCP) is a pioneer of green building in Hong Kong, bringing leisure and nature into the crowded city of Kowloon Bay. We chose its forecourt as the site for the pavilion. The design concept symbolises bamboo growing out of the on-site flower beds and converging to form the pavilion. The pavilion is anchored in the flower beds, minimising obstruction of its surroundings while creating shade and a focal point in the open space. The curved arches trace the site's key views and connect closely with the surrounding environment.
